So we’ve been selling on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay since our company was launched in 2014, and its fair to say we’ve been itching to get our own web store up and running for sometime.
Platforms like eBay and Amazon are great in that they attract huge amounts of internet traffic, which means your products listed for sale are more quickly and easily found by interested shoppers.
But the downside is that you are also bound by their rules and policies.
We recently acquired some product which started to sell reasonably well on eBay, only to then find that eBay were only permitting certain ‘approved’ sellers to list that product for sale. Despite our history of trading on the platform, eBay decided that ARKS Global was not ‘approved’ and there was no mechanism to appeal, or even to seek approval.
That gave us some impetus then, to get the ball rolling on our own shop website. It was always going to be a challenge, we fully accept that no-one launches a brand new website and starts selling straight away. But at least we have got something up and running for now.
So please don’t consider this website the finished article, it is very much a ‘work-in-progress’, with desired functionality still to be added, but all in good time!
